Terms of Use
Last updated: August 2026
By using HoldFast, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.
What HoldFast is
HoldFast is a free, ad-supported timer that tracks your fasting and eating windows: start a fast, watch the time elapse, and keep a history of the fasts you have completed. It is a timekeeping tool, not a health programme.
Not medical advice — talk to a doctor
HoldFast is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. It counts time; it does not know your medical history and it cannot tell whether fasting is safe for you. Nothing in the app is medical advice, a diagnosis, or a treatment plan. Fasting is not appropriate for everyone: talk to a doctor or a qualified health professional before you start, and do not fast without medical supervision if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, under 18, diabetic or taking medication that must be paired with food, underweight, or if you have or have had an eating disorder. Stop and seek medical help if you feel unwell. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any health consequence of a fast you choose to undertake.
You are responsible for the goals you set in the app. The durations offered are common presets, not a recommendation that they are right for you.
Timers and notifications
Timers and reminders depend on your device and can be delayed or missed — for example by battery-saver settings, background limits, Do-Not-Disturb mode, or a powered-off device. Don't rely on HoldFast as your only way to know when a fast ends.
Acceptable use
Don’t misuse the app, attempt to break or reverse-engineer it, or use it unlawfully.
Changes
We may update these terms; continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
